2015- Casa quemada

Solo show

Centro cultural Casa quemada, Santiago, Chile

In 2015, Casa Quemada was held in a burned colonial house in the center of Santiago, Chile. The exhibition utilized the unique setting of the house, with its charred walls and open roof, to present a series of paintings and sculptures. These works, installed throughout the space, resonated with the atmosphere of decay and transformation. Themes of the body as a metamorphic object intertwined with notions of memory, history, and the passage of time, all of which were enhanced by the surrounding architecture. Busts resembling antique saints punctuated the space, evoking an eerie connection between the sacred and the temporal. The paintings, informed by Sergei Parajanov’s film The Colour of Pomegranates, added a layer of poetic narrative to the exhibition. Together, the works and the space created a dialogue between the material and the ephemeral, drawing the viewer into a suspended moment between past and present.
