Galería Patricia Ready, Santiago, Chile.

"El Primer Juego" is an exploration in which making precedes thinking. The matter of this exhibition extends questions I have tried to answer not through theory, but through the body — through the mental and material rhythm of sculptural and pictorial work. The gathered works trace a constellation of essential forms — the circle, the square, the sphere, and the cube — that refer both to the geometry of the body and that of the cosmos. In this play of opposites and correspondences, the line becomes a point in motion; emptiness finds form, and matter finds meaning.

The title evokes an original rite: an ancestral game that creates and preserves life. This idea is particularly present in the paintings made through a revealing technique — like the one many of us practiced as children — where a surface is scratched to uncover what was hidden beneath. A gesture that is both playful and sacred, an inaugural act.

My work proposes a reflection on origins — on the way we inhabit the world through symbols, forms, and materials, and on the possibility of a non-linear memory, one that is closer to cycles, to the archaic languages of ritual and play. That is why I return to essential elements such as wood, and to gestures that emerge from the act of making itself. Through this process, I seek to reestablish a bond between body and matter, understanding art not as representation but as presence — a form of embodied knowledge. Sculpture, in particular, allows me to think through weight and geometry. Many of the pieces are organized as constellations — open structures where each part maintains its singularity while participating in a greater order. I am drawn to that tension between the individual and the collective, bringing together the earthly and the cosmic. At its core, I believe that all true art proposes a form of reconciliation: between memory, human gesture, and the forces that surpass us.

To know the material and the logic of the gesture — to join, insert, extract, and add — is also a way of thinking: an operation that seeks to open a space of reconciliation between the material and the immaterial, the rational and the intuitive, the bodily and the cosmic.
